Facilities at the Uithof

General Practitioner

Being healthy is one of the most important things. Luckily we have a Campus Uithof doctor’s office nearby, located in another SSH building, Casa Confetti. Here they provide tailor-made care for students and the general practitioners have a broad knowledge. Because of this, they know exactly what the student needs.

Shops

On the Uithof you won’t find many shops. For small groceries we have the Spar University UU. It is open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., except on Sundays, and is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The Spar can be found at Heidelberglaan 1-B.

Opposite the Spar is the Primera. Here you can go for notebooks and other writing material, but it is also a PostNL postal point. Parcels sent via the postal service PostNL can be delivered here. So if you are not home during the day and you can pick it up over there.

The Primera is open from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m and closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

Food

On the Uithof you can eat in more and more places. Along the bus/tram track you will find The Basket, the grandcafe of the Uithof. You can go here for a nice lunch or dinner as well as a drink. Every 2nd Monday of the month starting at 19.30 The Basket organizes a pubquiz where everyone can show off their knowledge. The Basket is open Monday to Friday from 10.30 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. and is closed on the weekend.

Next to the Primera you will find At Eat Out. Here you can not only get sandwiches, but also unox sausages, tasty juice and curry. Open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

If you are craving Italian food, delicious pizzas and pastas can be obtained at Pizzeria Tricolore, under the University Library. It is open from Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

On the campus you can also find a few food trucks. A regular is Mo & Zonen where you can go for kebab, doner or shoarma. The opening hours of this food truck are from Monday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Fridays from 11 a.m. to 2.30 p.m.

Along with Mo & Zonen there are some changing food trucks. Tuesdays you can find Hoi Anh with Vietnamese Street Food, on Wednesday is Broodje Ben with delicious sandwiches, on Thursday is Tour de la Frite with fresh hand-sliced French fries and on Friday is Broodje Ben again at this place. Cheap and tasty!

Hairdresser
Not only does Casa Confetti have a doctors office, they also have a hairdresser there. At Beautyplein you can get a haircut. This is a professional salon of the Beauty College. Beautyplein is open Monday from 9.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday from 11.30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
On weekends and holidays the hairdresser is closed.
